Equinor Ventures invests in and supports innovative companies to shape the future of energy.

Equinor Ventures is Equinor's corporate venture capital arm dedicated to investing in ambitious early-phase and growth companies. We believe that the innovation, creativity and agility of startups can drive change towards a low-carbon future.

We provide venture capital funding to companies with technologies and business models that have the potential to deliver positive and sustainable value. We are driven by the ambition to test, pilot and scale disruptive technologies.​ ​ 

Our current portfolio is primarily in Europe and North America, but we’re open to opportunities globally. We are looking to invest predominantly in renewables, low-carbon solutions and future business opportunities.​

How we engage with our portfolio companies

We look to develop long-term, strategic partnerships, and can support companies through:​ 

  • Capital: We make minority equity investments in our portfolio companies. Our initial investment ticket varies depending on the phase and size of the opportunity. We are committed to long-term partnership, including follow-on investing, with our strategically aligned portfolio companies.​ 
  • Business build: We aim to be a value-adding strategic investor to develop mutually beneficial partnerships that create future business build options.
  • Engagement: We invest in companies that can support Equinor in delivering sustainable and responsible energy today, tomorrow, and in the future. We seek to implement deployable technologies and business models in Equinor’s value chain and collaborate on scalable solutions that have the potential to grow to industrial-scale business opportunities.​ 
  • R&D facilities: We have extensive experience with research, development and testing. This means we can offer companies access to partnerships, pilots, and technical and operational expertise to test and scale disruptive technologies.
