Agenda

In 2024, the Autumn Conference took place in a historic election year. Business leaders and politicians must find a way forward in a context of potentially increased polarisation, geopolitical competition and tensions, aware that the world’s ability to meet its climate goals hinges on the ability to reduce emissions.

The challenge will be to decarbonise our energy system, all while ensuring energy security in a situation with strained financial resources. We are standing at global crossroads.

The keynote speakers were Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Gahr Støre, IEA Executive Director, Dr Fatih Birol, Norwegian Minister of Energy, Terje Aasland, and President and CEO, Equinor ASA, Anders Opedal.

World Energy Outlook 2024

IEA’s World Energy Outlook 2024 is among the world's most authoritative sources of projections and insight into trends in the global energy market.

This year’s edition was published in October, and as usual key highlights from the report will be presented at the Autumn Conference.
