New head of Russia activities appointed

Bengt Lie Hansen has been appointed Hydro's corporate representative in Russia, effective from January 2007.

Bengt Lie Hansen comes from the position as project director for Hydro's Shtokman project, a position he has held since September 2004.

Prior to this he was responsible for the Mid-Norway sector in Development Norway and chairman of the Ormen Lange management committee.

Lie Hansen has worked in Hydro since 1983 and held various management positions in gas, exploration, finance, strategy, commercial activities and partner follow up.

Bengt Lie Hansen will succeed Petter Nore who has been appointed General Secretary of the International Gas Union (IGU).

Petter Nore will work on various Oil & Energy projects until he takes up the IGU position in autumn 2007.
