The production from the subsea field Sigyn and gas export from Volve installation is processed on Sleipner A.
In 2014 the processing of Gudrun rich gas and unstable condensate started up at Sleipner.
The processing of Gina Krog rich gas at Sleipner was started up in 2017.
In 2019 the processing of Utgard well stream to Sleipner started up.
Transport and gas-hub:
Sleipner delivers dry gas into Gassled pipeline infrastructure (Area D) and unstable condensate to Kårstø for further processing and export
Sleipner R is also a gas hub for gas from Kollsnes (Zeepipe II) and from Nyhamna (Langeled) for further transport to Draupner, Zeebrugge and Easington.
Location: Block 15/6, 15/8 and 15/9.
Sleipner Vest
The Sleipner Vest field with block 15/6 og 15/9 was discovered in 1974. The production of gas and condensate started in August 1996.
Sleipner Vest is developed with two platforms: the production/wellhead platform Sleipner B and the processing and gas treatment platform Sleipner T.
As part of the Sleipner Vest development, the satellite field Alfa Nord (also gas/condensate) was tied back to Sleipner T platform.
The gas from Sleipner Vest is exported into the Gassled transport system, while the unstable condensate is transported in pipeline to Kårstø in Rogaland for further processing.
The transport of condensate from Kårstø is by ship. Sleipner Vest is tied back to Sleipner Øst, and the two fields share the same operations and maintenance organisation.
- Wellstream from Sleipner Vest (Sleipner B) is transported in a 12 kilometers pipeline to the Sleipner T platform.
- At Sleipner T, CO2 is removed from the wellstream.
- Sleipner B is normally unmanned and the production is controlled from Sleipner A platform at Sleipner Øst.
- Sleipner T is located in the Sleipner Øst field, and connected to Sleipner A with a permanent bridge.
Location: Blocks 15/6 and 15/9 in the North Sea
Start-up: 29 August 1996
Production: Gas and condensate
Sleipner Øst
The Sleipner Øst field with block 15/9 was discovered in 1981.
The production started in August 1993. The Sleipner Øst field is developed with the processing, drilling and living quarter platform Sleipner A.
Sleipner A is also connected with bridges to Sleipner T (processing and CO2-removal platform) and Sleipner R (Riser platform and flare).
As part of the Sleipner Øst development, the satellite field Loke (also gas/condensate) is tied back to Sleipner A platform.
The unstable condensate from Sleipner is transported in pipeline to Kårstø in Rogaland for further processing. The transport of condensate from Kårstø is by ship.
The gas from Sleipner Øst is exported into the Gassled transport system (Statpipe, Zeepipe and Europipe II to Emden and Zeebrugge), while the unstable condensate is transported in pipeline to Kårstø in Rogaland for further processing.
Location: 15/9 in the North Sea
Start-up: August 1993
Production: Gas and condensate
Gungne
Gungne is a satellite field to Sleipner Øst.
This reservoir was discovered in 1982, and production start-up was 21 April 1996 through a well drilled from the Sleipner A platform.
The well is drilled with a 7,377 m horizontal offset from Sleipner A, and represented a record for then Statoil, now Equinor, at the time of production start-up. The total well length is 8,561 meters.
Location: Block 15/9 in the North Sea
Production start: 21 April 1996
Production: Gas and condensate
Loke
As part of the Sleipner Øst development, the satellite field Loke (also gas/condensate) is tied back to Sleipner A platform.
Loke was discovered in 1983, and with a production start-up in 1993.
Location: Satellite to Sleipner Vest
Start-up: 1993
Alfa Nord
Alfa Nord is a satellite to Sleipner Vest, and was sanctioned for development in 2002.
This gas and condensate field is tied back to the Sleipner T production and gas treatment platform via an 18 kilometre pipeline.
The gas is rich in CO2, and is routed through the CO2 removal plant at Sleipner T where CO2 is removed and sent to Sleipner A for injection into the sub-surface Utsira formation.
The production from Alfa Nord started 11 October 2004.
Location: Satellite to Sleipner Vest
Start-up: October 2004
