Most attractive employer for experienced professionals

On October 9th, Equinor received the Universum reward as Norway’s most attractive employer in 2024 among experienced professionals.

Universum is one of the world’s largest and most respected employer branding companies, and twice a year they publish insights from a large sample of respondents who nominate the most attractive companies to work for: students’ rankings in the spring, and experienced professionals in the autumn.

What is the Universum Award?

The Universum Award is a globally recognised accolade that celebrates organisations for their exceptional employer branding and talent attraction strategies. Winning this award signifies that we are not only a great place to work but also a top choice for talented professionals seeking meaningful and rewarding careers.

In 2024, Universum interviewed 10,000 professionals between March and July from several fields such as business, engineering, IT, law, humanities, and health. See below for Equinor’s results in each of these categories.

High ranking over the last years

For several years, Equinor has received high placements in all main categories.

This year’s results show Equinor as a top employer in engineering and business, and on the top 3 ranking for IT and Law.

“We are very proud of this achievement as this is a recognition of a strong culture building, but we are also very humble to say that we need to keep working hard and always search for better ways to keep our employer reputation in Norway,” says Maria Clara Machado, global leader of employer branding.

Growing attractiveness in IT

One of growing areas of attractiveness is IT. This year, Equinor has been named as one of the top three most attractive companies in Norway.

There is also an improvement on the gender ranking: women have ranked Equinor as number 7 while men as number 3.

“It is extremely positive to see we continue to grow in IT both among women and men. This is directly connected to our role to develop technology to succeed in the energy transition,” says Maria Clara.

“Recently we have also received another award as one of the top best places to work among technologists and engineers by Tekjobb. We hope to continue building a strong reputation among students and experienced professionals,” she adds.
