Hydro today awarded Reinertsen Anlegg AS the contract for building the administration complex of the Ormen Lange gas processing plant under construction in Nyhamna in Mid-Norway. The contract value is approximately NOK 130 million.
The contract includes construction of an administration building of approximately 7,500 square meters at Nyhamna containing offices for 60 persons, control center, emergency station, laboratories, workshops, parking area and landscaping of approximately 1.8 hectares.
Work on site will start in early January 2005, and the building will be finished in May 2006.
Hydro is operator for Ormen Lange during the development phase, including all field development, the gas processing plant at Nyhamna, as well as the export pipeline project – Langeled.
Ormen Lange is the largest gas field under development on the Norwegian continental shelf. It is located 100 km off the northwest coast of Norway at a water depth of 800 to 1,100 meters. The field comes on stream in October 2007.
