As of 1 July Elisabeth Berge will become executive vice president for communication and public affairs in Statoil.
The following units – public affairs, country analysis and social responsibility and the corporate secretariat – will report to Ms Berge from this date.
Until now Ms Berge has been a member of the corporate executive committee, with responsibility for the state's direct financial interest (SDFI). In connection with Statoil's listing, SDFI responsibility has been transferred to Petoro, the new state-owned company.
John Ove Lindøe has been senior vice president for public affairs in Statoil since 1 February 1996. He is now leaving this position of his own accord.
At a date as yet undecided, Mr Lindøe will take up a position in a newly-established corporate services unit, known for the time being as Statoil Media. He will be responsible for conveying information and facts about the group, with special focus on the content of electronic communication channels.
